Capstone: Month 2 Week 1
This post covers the 5th week of our Capstone project.
This Week’s Tasks
This week I was tasked with:
- Creating the Pulse Rifle (Burst Weapon)
- Creating the Missile Launcher
- Adding Double (or more) Jump Support
- Overhauling the Sprint System with Stamina
For the purposes of this post, I will be focusing on the Sprint & Stamina System.

Sprint & Stamina System
The idea behind our Stamina System is pretty simple - you have x seconds of stamina available, depleted while sprinting (holding Shift). Once you have exhausted your stamina, you will need to wait for it to recharge. Stamina begins recharging at half the rate you use it after y seconds of not sprinting. I’ve made most of the relevant variables into public fields that can be modified in the inspector for easier usability. I have also created a simple stamina bar in the UI so you can see your stamina as it depletes and recharges.
